Sounds like a dish from Japan. So I would start with a hot pan some butter and garlic.

You will notice that the tail goes up before it falls. That is very difficult to reproduce. Granted, you'll see it some times in Cubalaya but I think it is a quirk and not an inherited trait.

I'd blend:

Cubalaya and China Games: possibly Phoenix

It's more than just the tail and the weird angle. They are 'saddle-draggers.' Perhaps you'd find some good Phoenix that are saddle-draggers, but I've not seen any recently.

You could use Thai but I'm not sure it will help you any at all.

You are also going to need to add some Malay as the comb is a cross between a cushion and a peacomb.

Honestly, if you can find the saddle draggers in something besides Phoenix then that is what I'd use. That single comb is going to cause you problems. Of course, most China Games are SC too. A peacombed line of China Games would be a real asset.

One last thought, what you really need is a good picture of the minohiki hen: a near perfect one. Reproduce the hen and you'll be 3/4s of the way there.

Off the top of my head and please correct me if I'm wrong.
I recall them being related to Yokohama .
So I'd start with some Yokohama and take it from there
Yokohama I believe have peacombs , so I would add malay for a cushion comb.

you'd probably end up with Satsumadori projects too with this kind of a cross :P

Malay x Yokohama.

josh is right: use a Yoko instead of a Cubalaya.

Our Yokos were bred from the Minohiki supposedly.
