One of the things we want to do here at the Ultimate Fowl Forum is provide a way to show off your fowl, and in the same note, if you are raising games, show documentation that you are using your fowl for show purposes. Everyone who enters will receive a certificate via email, that shows that they have entered their fowl in a photo contest. We will have real prizes for the contests, but you won't have to pay to enter, and you can enter as many birds as you want. We may adjust things in the future, but it will always be free. Any updates will be posted here. Thanks!

Rules:

China and I will be the judges for the first contest, and we won't enter any pics. We will base our decision on the following things, and our decision will be final.

* Overall look of the bird, and it should look like what you claim it is. ( In other words, if you enter an Asil, it better not have a tall straight comb, and long wattles )
* Quality of the picture. You bird needs to be in focus, and pay attention to the background!

We are going to keep it simple, no judging of standards, or bias based on breed or sex. Please make sure your birds are of breeding age though, no chick pictures! Feel free to enter as many pics as you want.


Prizes will vary, but for the first contest, we will have a picture drawn by fowlafoot for the grand champion, and ribbons for the runner up positions. Just check each contest to see the prizes.

By the way, I forgot to mention that the birds must be owned by you. Please don't submit someone else's birds! Thanks.

Here is an example of the certificate you will receive, if you desire, for entering the contest. This will prove that you are raising your gamefowl for show purposes. If you want one, just pm me your full name, and your email address. I will only send these out to people that request them, and have entered the contest. You can receive one of these certificates for each contest you enter. Thanks!

We are working on projects all the time for our members, and one of the things we are looking to put together is a calendar with all the winners of the photo contest over the next few months. Anyway, from now on, by submitting your photos to our contests, you will be giving us permission to use your photos for these kinds of projects. Keep in mind, any money we generate from this site, will go back to the site and it's members via prizes and such for contests, and improving the site. If you absolutely don't want your photos used by us, just let me know, and it won't be a problem. Thanks!

For the month of January, we are going to divide up the photo contest into two categories. We will have one for gamefowl only, which includes both American and Oriental fowl, and one for standard breeds of fowl (barnyard chickens). We are doing this as a trial to see what kind of response we get, and to try to get people to realize that they can be comfortable showing their standard breeds as well. I know we talk a lot about gamefowl on this site, but we want all breeds to be included as well, so break out those pics of your layers, meat birds, or pet chickens!

By the way, it is best to only have one bird in the picture. You can enter multiple pictures of the same bird if you want, but please try to only have the bird you want to submit for the contest the the picture. It is also best for how the forum works, if you could keep your pictures less than 800x800 pixels in size. If you have any questions on the contest, please post them here. Thanks!
