 Sumatras first egg!
Was pretty pleased to find an egg in the nest box of my sumatra bantams today. But being the start of the winter wasnt really sure how they will lay over coming months? anyone with any experience with these birds shed any light? They are kept in an outside run and have no extra light other than what comes natural!

Weather permitting you'll probably get a couple a week for next 3 months. I got some pullets myself just started laying. Shouldnt worry too much until spring.

Why not if you got somewhere nice and warm to bring them on.

First 12 eggs are now safely in the incubator. Fingers crossed for a reasonable hatch and a mild january! And they are still laying every other day!

9 out of the 12 are fertile so fingers crossed for a week today! Although i have no control over the outcome as someone else is incubating them for me!
