 Re: Caught a Chicken Theif
My experience with fox is a good one. I have only had them enter yard with either a hole in fence or open door. I have never had one to dig or climb. Seem to skidish, coons are a different story.

 Re: Caught a Chicken Theif
I don't have a probelm with them except after young chicks running around, since I stopped ever using barrels. I've actually watched them laying in the wweds waiting for bird to jump out of barrel9 watching to confirm my assumption) They'll get to your birds if pens aren't up to snuff. I've shot them digging under doors and added thresholds accordingly. We can't trap 'em here except in trapping season, but we can shoot them protecting birds anytime day or night. That nightvision scope never fail to catch them off guard, and does leave leave much room for learning curve for them

 Re: Caught a Chicken Theif
Carr, We are allowed to trap out of season with a special DNR permit that the Game Warden writes out for you. You might want to check and see if VA DNR will do the same. doc

 Re: Caught a Chicken Theif
Well! We have PLENTY of really wild areas with no people around, up in the mountains. I know, I know! I'm tough on predators too, when I have to be, but dang, that fox looks so cute and smart...
