Post Collection of videos about training your livestock dog
Even though these dogs have high intelligence and a natural instinct to protect, they still need guidance and training from their owners. Thinking you can just turn them loose and expect them to do the job is wrong. It's not their fault when mistakes happen, it's yours as the owner. Take some time to watch these..some are a bit goofy but have good touchpoints.

That's just a few..you can search youTube for basic obedience training videos too which helps greatly.

I have a book, LESSONS FROM A STCKDOG, which I used when I raised Australian Shepards, to train. I'd trained many dogs before, for obience and hunting, but this is quite different. If someone is seriously interested for cost to mail, it's yours.

Back years ago I had a friend that raised and trained working Border Collies. He had some very good dogs. He worked on a ranch and got to use them allot. He let me borrow a video once from some big stock dog trainer. This guy would work the dogs on ducks, then sheep, then on to cattle. In this video he was working a young dog on ducks and the dog was getting a little rough, then all the sudden dog went cujo on the ducks. The trainer hollered "shut that damn camera off". Then it continued and the dog was working great. I bet he cut out the best training part, and bet the dog wished he hadnt went off on the ducks. I never could figure out why he didnt cut the part out about the camera. Maybe that was long enough ago it was harder to edit than now.
