What is the best way to keep hawks away from my fowls?
I hung a couple of cds on strings outside on the trees but I don't know if that'll keep the hawks away, any ideas? There are about 4-5 hawks that roam my area.

A good dog. Other than that there isint much.Unless you can set up a skeet range. If they see a easy meal it will be just a matter of time.

Crows help. Intelligent, protective dog. Allow cover to grow for Asils and Asian gamefowl to use to hide . If you can let large, aggressive Asian Game cock to free range, I have had them nail hawks coming in to nab young, really.

I agree, it seemed to work pretty good .....till I ran out of pigeons.

I wouldn't mind if there were less of em around that's for sure!
Anybody else notice that the hawks seem to go after grey pullets with extreme prejudice? Or is it just me? I've only lost grey pullets to them at this point, penned the last 3 up at this point. Figure they're the smarter ones.

I'd say they go after Grey anything. White absolutely glows in a birds vision, makes Greys, Goldens, Spangles, anything with white or yellow in the plumage the easiest thing to see.
