Post Coyote Love
Damn it, I love to have a mission. Something to set myself upon. They've cut the 500 acres of corn, around me for 270 degrees. A finger of woods seperates my from the SSW to the NESaturday night I heard a coyote, NW about 250 yds, sounded like a young one. Tonight at 10:15, a airliner was cutting back engines on his descent to Richmond Airport (about 25 miles away) and an entire pack started whowling in response( a very typical response that has same responses before one lone 'yote) So many I couldn't do better than to guess 6 to 8 and one adult. They aren't hitting my perimeter, they realize it's a setup, but I guess I've got to bring the setup to them. Bugga-bugga, That nightvision scope takes a lot of learning curve up on the bastards. I guess I'll get a new Ruger 25 round magazine for the 10/22, my Butler Creek 30 round jams so badly I'm going to need something else. My 10 round are fine, but once I open up on multiple targets, I'll probably have to screw up my batting average.

It's going to be a difficult setup. They are using the rolling hills draw to conceal their movements, and they are back up in a wooded draw along the stream jutting out into the field, provides them great cover. The low pressure cell parked over Cuda's place, is still dumping rain an inch or more a day, so I'm going to let it dry out awhile and see if I can locate a roadkill deer to move them towards a better setup

Irene, then tropical stom Lee, and it has none nothing but rain ever since. The ground is totally saturated, rivers all to the tops of their banks with muddy water, roads and interstate highways flooding.I was complaining silently to myself until I noticed Michigan while checking the national map. Hope it moves out soon, but they are calling only for more rain.

I dont know where you live, but here in Texas we are about the same about the rain and we're getting ready to plant oats and rye grass.
