Not yet, it rained until Monday, its like soup back there. I'm still waiting for a fresh road kill deer from KW VDOT crew, to bring them to a firing laneThat should help pull them out just wher they can't use topgraphy as cover

Well Tex, got a fresh roadkill fawn to shoot over, set it and opened up a couple of shooting lane to target. We have a breed of deerhunters here that consider deerhunting a Motorsports. Since initially posting they have driven around the field before and after dusk daily, with K5 with 350 and thrush mufflers and/or 4 wheelers. Disappointing , they may have done me a favor and run them off, Any Varmit Al fans here?

A couple of suggestions Carr:

1. Take a large spike or rebar and nail the deer to the ground. This way they can't drag it off and have to come back into the target area even after being shot at.

2. Get a dispensation from the VA DNR for 45 to trap coyote. Set out a few steel traps around that deer and catch one or two. Kill all the males so caught but keep a bitch or two. Set them up in an above ground pen for a few days before they meet their maker. Under their pen put a basin and collect all their piss. You can freeze this to keep it for future use. This will draw them in from miles away; it works especially well if collected while the bitch is in heat.

I staked down with a rebar, but probably shouldn't use leg-hold traps, with so many deer hounds or beagles out . I did set a live trap near the area I've heard them

Well that's too bad Carr, I have been dealing with a family of bobcats right now, trapped all of them except for one it keeps on finding a different way to come in and grab a bird and I notice where it gets in because the hot wire is tangeled up in certain areas, but I have something for him.

Well with pressure brought to bear here each evening, I'd quess they've moved deeper into the 2 mile by 2mile roughly diamond shaped piece of woods due west of me. Late year lone coyote went that way, I heard his call nightly moving deeper.
A large number of buzzards worked on the fawn carcass, leaving enough to shoot over, but I can't stay up tonight, as I have be out early to Norfolk
