Indeed he is. Some strains are more so than others. Personally, I like the strains that have double-tails, but I don't possess such Asil myself.

Gomer,
A double-tail.... hard to explain. It is what is seen on the better Cubalayas; very large and flowing; usually long as well (sickles and coverts are long, abundant, drooping; with many dragging the ground) also known as a lobster tail in the USA or shrimp tail in Islands.

There are strains of Asil which carry such a tail in the States and South America from birds that originial came from Pakistan, but they are few and far between and very difficult to acquire.

Though I do not have any myself, I have had Asil that have the long sickle feathers (1 1/2 feet in length). The Hyderabad I gave to cuda is such a cock. My grey Hyderabads have longer sickle feathers than the red Hyderabads, but none are double.

Not really.

Here are 2 links:
The first one is a young (very young) stag I now have. He's right at 6 months. His tail is nearly double, but I don't know if it will be long enough to really qualify as such.

The second is a cock I gave cuda. It is nearly double as well. It continued to grow after this picture was taken to over a foot in length.

Must be an American thing- I really do not know what you are going on about?

They are Asils - not Yokohamas

The double tail, or lobster tail, sort of looks like the tail is spread so wide that the bottom main tail feathers start to overlap the top ones. It makes the tail look very, very full.
