I love their heads! I just wanna hug'em. Beautiful chicks, they don't seem at all bothered by the cold temperatures.

Brother, They are looking very nice. I talked with Craig Russell a few weeks back and the Ohio show and carried him some Malgache to replace the ones the coon killed. He said he keeps his in the barn during the winter. I hope and trust your's will winter well. doc

Re: malgache 25 degrees with wind chill 14........
Hi Doc, The birds wintered quite well last year, had a heat lamp available for them, they did quite well, in fact they were the first birds to start breeding and sitting in the very early spring, and hatching, even if the temperature was freezing. Which really surprised me, I really like the breed, I did try a cock on a white asil, and got 3 that I kept, one is spangled, with no naked neck, the others 2 are naked neck. I also tried a cross on a black O Shamo hen, they are quite nice, the greys, blues and blacks, are separate breeding, of the originals I got from Clint D in the Carolinas. Also got a pair from GWRoberts. They are all right now running loose, and really doing great. They retreat to their roosting area in the evening. Thanks, phil
Happy Thanksgiving.
