Post Spurs on hens?
All my green and yellow leg hatch hens have spurs any one else have a hatch
line with spured hen I'm not sure if its the norm or not?

Yes, with gamefowl it is common in some lines. My Kelso hens are all spurred as well.

My butcher hen has got spurs and uses them often. My glh pullet doesnt tho :shock:

I really dont what the signifance is with the spurs on the hens but shes the only one with them and seems to be at the top of the pecking order. Some people that Ive spoken to say they have better blood but I dont know. Shes always been sweet with Me ^^

I have a very rare hen that hatched from my shamo cock and calcutta asil hen who has very sharp spurs. Fourteen months ago she was the bigest out of her clutch I thought she was a male turned out to be a very special hen. An elder friend of mine who also breeds orientals says that a hen with spurs signifies purity. Ill be sure to post some pics as soon as I get a camera in my hands, my daughter sort bathed it in the camole.
